If you, like the many people I’ve spoken with, bought The Bigs for Wii and are very unhappy with it, do yourself a favor and give yourself another chance.
I know, I know — the batting is slightly delayed, and how the fuck do I throw to first base, and how do you dive? Controls suck, I know. But give it another chance. Be patient with it; you’ll get the hang of it.
I gave The Bigs a second chance, and I’ve come to love the game. I’ve learned the controls, and they are perfectly fitting for the game. It’s not a video game for you to play as if you’re really playing a baseball game a la Wii Sports baseball. Sure, you swing the bat, but everything else is just a typical video game — just with different motions of your wrists, and not just your fingers.
I’m currently doing the rookie challenge, and it’s actually been a challenge. I lose many games and often can’t accomplish the missions. But after a little practice with the controls and what not, I inch myself further in the challenge.
So, in all, give it another chance. It’s actually a great game if you give it the proper learning curve it requires.
