My XBox 360 decided to do the red ring of death, again. For the fourth time. I’m not too sure if it’s still under the extended warranty or not — I suppose I’ll have to give Microsoft a call. If it’s not under warranty (and I’ll have to pay to fix), I think I might just call it quits on the 360.
We need a new DVD player for the living room, though. So it’s probably either fix the 360, or invest in a Sony PS3.
It just amazes me that Microsoft still can’t get the system right.
Update: It looks like I’m under the extended warranty after all!
On July 5, 2007, the Vice-President of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division published an open letter recognizing the console’s problems, as well as announcing a 3 year warranty expansion for every Xbox 360 console that experiences the “general hardware failure” indicated by three flashing red LED lights on the console (wikipedia).
