I think you made a great point. In my living room, I have a 42in LG. My up-converting dvd player does a great job, so I feel that I don't really 'need' blu-ray. But, I do have a 29in Olevia LCD in my bedroom that just doesn't a good job with standard def, as well as any up-converted material. I hooked up my 360 with the HD-DVD add on, and the HD material did look amazing. So, perhaps it really does come down to the television itself? Shrug.

Yeah, that's right. The price of a blu ray player is just too much for some people. The reason why I drool over one is because I have a 37" Sanyo HDTV, and it just doesn't do a magnificent job upconverting 480i signals.

I've been waiting for Verizon to add more HD channels to it's lineup because watching regular stations just isn't good enough for me.

My parents Olevia does a better job of doing it, it's a very noticeable difference. I bought a special upconverting DVD player and that doesn't do a perfect job either with this TV.

I guess I just have exceptionally high standards when it comes to HD. Now I'm rambling too much.

What type of TV do you have?

you know, i have to be honest with you, my 42in hdtv does standard def like a charm -- granted its upconverting, but im very happy with the quality. i thought about going blu-ray, but after i tried hd-dvd, i just wasn't completely sold. i have 400-500 dvds... and blu-ray just isn't making me buy them all over again... perhaps its the price of bluray, too? shrug, now im just rambling

Har har har. Thanks for posting the video on your blog. This makes me want to buy a Blu Ray player even more!

What's the point of having a big screen HDTV if you don't have a blu ray player? :(
