Street Kings, starring Keanu Reeves, is surprisingly good. I’ve been watching this movie over the last few days (pretty much twenty minute blips from time to time) and finally finished it yesterday. While the movie does get somewhat confusing at times, it does not take away from the actual story-line. The plot line is somewhat predictable, but it’s still an action packed cop drama that keeps you wanting more. I’m very glad I picked this movie up for my collection.

Keanu was very believable, too.

I enjoyed Music and Lyric for the most part. It was your typical cookie cutter romance story, but it did lack a certain something — perhaps a believable connection between Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The opening sequence was great though; gotta love the eighties.

Across the Universe failed to do anything for me. For the first thirty minutes or so, I had no idea who each character was, or whom he or she was with. And by the end of the film, all the songs were very very predictable. Sure, it was great hearing Beatles tunes, but I could have accomplished that feeling by putting my collection on random. I was expecting a Rent-like musical, and all I got ~~was this lousy t-shirt~~ was a poor attempt at a musical featuring the best of The Beatles. Next.

Four Brothers, featuring Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, and Andre 9003030202 from Outkast, is a waste of your time. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Wahlberg was pretty good, though. Strangely, I enjoy his acting.

Letters from Iwo Jima is certainly a must-see. It looks beyond the politics of the time and shines light on the many stereotypes that were taking place from one side to another.

The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift was, more or less, just like the previous two installments — minus Paul Walker. The acting and plot lines, once again, were very dry and very predictable. The Vin Diesel cameo was great at the end, though.

Very disappointed with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. For the most part, it was boring, all over the place, and just didn’t have the ‘feeling’ of the first two installments.

Batman Begins is exactly what the Batman franchise, of old, really needed. Christian Bale made Batman, and Bruce Wayne, very believable. The cartoon-ish feel of the 90′s Batman movies is not present in Batman Begins — which makes the movie even more enjoyable.
