God damnit, are 24 episodes the same over and over again? I’m finally catching up on season one of 24 and it’s really repetitive. I’ve heard this complaint for the latest seasons, but it applies to the first season, too.

Jack finds lead to terrorists. Jack’s daughter gets kidnapped. Jack’s wife goes to look for her. Jack’s wife gets in trouble. Jack’s wife gets kidnapped with Jack’s daughter. Someone that works with Jack is actually a mole working for the terrorists. Jack gets ticked off. Jack finds wife and daughter. Jack rescues wife and daughter. Jack gets new leads to terrorists. Jack’s wife and daughter get put in safe house — safe house gets infiltrated by terrorists. Jack’s wife and daughter escape. Jack’s daughter gets kidnapped, again. Repeat everything else.

Same plot, over and over again — just rehashed with different characters. I was looking forward to season two, but who knows now.

Update Throw in some more terrorist moles infiltrating the good guys, too.

I just finished watching ABC’s new show, Traveler. If you’re not sure what the show is about, the show’s website gives a brief synopsis of what is occuring — it’s also quoted below this entry. The website also includes the first episode for you to watch online.

The show is your typical fast paced, and high action, terrorist series. It reminds me quite like “24″ meets “The Fugitive” meets “Prison Break.”

I don’t see myself watching it quite like the way I watch “Lost”, but it is something new to watch. I’m way behind the “24″ seasons, as well as “House.” so there’s no way of catching up until the DVD seasons are released — six months from now. Plus, “Traveler” is taking the “Lost” time slot come May 30th, so it’s obviously something to watch on Wednesday nights. I’ll give it a shot, but my gut feeling is that this show just doesn’t have what it takes.

“SYNOPSIS: Jay, Tyler and Will are friends who have spent the last two years in grad school. They are about to depart on a summer trip when a simple prank to rollerblade through one of New York City’s most famous museums makes Jay and Tyler prime suspects in a terrorist bombing that destroys the museum seconds later. Hopeful that Will can help clear up this misunderstanding, they learn he’s been missing since the explosion and think he may be dead.
