A Sunny Update
Thursday, May 8th, 2008Sunny’s blood results came back in, and he’s perfectly healthy for everything they tested him for. This is great news since in the back of our minds, we’ve been nervous that he was suffering from FIP. But while it is great news, there’s still that cloud above us — what could possibly be causing Sunny to have seizures? We have an appointment with the neurologist to possibly rule out some brain activity.
He’s currently on Phenobarbital for his seizures. He’ll need blood work soon to make sure his body can handle the medication. The med has made him extra sleepy these last few days, but he’s slowly coming out of it. The other night he played all night long with his brother, Macky. Non-stop. They were so incredibly loud; I’m surprised the cops weren’t called on us. It’s a great feeling watching him become more and more normal and back to his old self.
We don’t want to keep Sunny on the phenobarbital for the rest of his life; we hope to eventually wean him off of it. I just hope that it helps him. If it can just make his seizures less dramatic and less painful for him, we would be very happy.
